Headed out this morn over the hill and immediately had service. Must mean we're getting closer to i90! I called my sis and made arrangements. I've decided to stay at the summit inn bc I keep reading bad reviews from hikers. So Anton, my bro in law, and caitlyn, my niece planned on picking me up when I get to the pass in the eve! I had about 23 miles until I got there and it was 6a. I sent out a few texts while I had good service and started thinking about what I should do in the next section regarding fires. In the morning, I got to see all the i90 peaks from afar, they're pretty. I wished I was more excited about the i90 area but that's all I ever hiked to back in the day. The climbs during the day were pretty steep as well as going down. Exposed in sun and super hot.
I decided to make it to lunch at mirror lake and it was SO nice. Clear water and shaded flat spots. There was a family out there hammocking and camping. What a relaxing place. Then I had nine miles to the pass. It was a lot of steep downhill and on rocks. My feet were hurting pretty bad and I had little water. It was so dry this section. I finally crossed over a hill and saw i90. What a weird feeling! Then it was down down down all the way to the pass just before six. I went to the summit inn to pick up my box. It took forever and the lady was pretty rude. I waited for Anton and caitlyn to come and they pulled up and brought me back to snoqualmie! But we stopped for food on the way since I hadn't had dinner yet. I shamefully got Burger King. Only thing around that was quick. 😳
We arrived at their new place and it was so good to see it all unpacked. So clean new and spacious and I had the downstairs all to myself. I ate a million calories from my food and took an amazing shower. I even shaved. I love clean new not gross houses. I can't imagine living in an old gross house anymore. I finally passed out after a long day.
