Today was an awesome day. It rained last night and we were basically in a wind tunnel. I tried waiting a long time until the rain stopped but I finally got out. It was mainly wind blowing lots of mist and rain from the trees onto me. But once I got around the ridge to the other side, it was so hot. It was dry, sunny and no wind. Then I was back on the other side and walked in mist all morning. It was actually quite refreshing bc they were ridge walks. Each morning, I waste a lot of time eating berries. It's basically my breakfast. Plus I need more fiber and nutrients. I didn't poop at all this morn.
I ended up coordinating w some ppl back home who are bringing me a bunch of stuff for WA. They are so helpful! It's things I think I will need more now that it's getting colder. Stove is the main thing and I'm actually really looking fwd to it. Laura is also getting me some meals to give to nancy in my other boxes. She is a life saver! Most of the walk today was so pretty. Even if it was in trees, it was still nice. The trees are just diff in the pnw. I also got to an exposed section where I saw Helens, rainy and Adams all at the same time. I was so excited.
I decided to make camp before the big descent to cascade locks. Today was sooo much easier than the last few. There were still a few climbs but it wasn't as steep. Both up and downhill. I also called Apple and turns out I do have an issue w my battery and I feel like I need to get it serviced before WA bc it's so remote and I don't want my phone to die. :( I'm trying really hard to find rides vs getting an appt but it's really tricky. I hope something works out. I'm gonna try to book it down to cascade locks tom to fig out some rides. I feel so stressed about this!!
