I passed out last night and slept well. Most of today was in the trees and very gradual climbs. Most of the time you couldn't feel it but somehow we were still tired. We are also starting to enter the area with blowdowns. I found a nice place for us to do lunch. I've been eating a lot more this section. Mainly bc my food is good and it is heavy. Gb didn't sleep very well last night. He seemed off today and so was I. Something about being in the trees all day with no views is a little tough.
The last water source before camp was by a shelter. There was also trail magic there. I also found out there's a dry 20 mile stretch into crater lake. No fun. I headed out since it was getting late. Lots of blowdowns and lava rocks beneath my feet. Ouch. So so painful. It doesn't help that my soles are so flat now. I heard there is seven miles of rocks tomorrow. There also weren't many tent sites but I found one in the woods a bit. I pitched and there were mosquitos already. Gb came. Ever since we left the hansons, I've been missing being around people who actually care about me and know me very well. A southbounder also came and camped with us. It's cool to talk to them about what they just came out of.
So sleepy now.
