Today was spaced out nicely. I only did 14 but had some good climbs so they take extra time. I noticed in the morning, it was super hazy. The sun had been blocked by smoke or something. Not quite sure what fire is close right now. As soon as I was walking, I was already looking forward to my dinner. I'm already loving the stove. Except I had to carry almost a whole extra liter just to cook and clean. Worth it I guess. I passed a large logging area which was really interesting. Then the rest of the day was in the trees, over and down around creeks. Reminded me a bit of the desert days. There are never any flat sites and it just goes on for days.
I saw many slugs and a long black/yellow snake. All the climbs felt super hot. No breeze at all. Someone said bc it's humid were just drenched in sweat. Only saw a handful of ppl. Think the rush is ahead of me now. I took nice breaks at each water. And then took a small nap at lunch break. I found a nice flat spot on the last switch back climb which was nice bc I only had around three miles until I was done for the day. I slowly made my way up and the old abandoned road was a perfect campsite. It was still early around 430p so I wasn't sure if anyone was gonna be camped here too. Soon enough, a section hiker named second life stopped as well. This road is so wide and flat. Can fit plenty of tents.
I made my dinner even though it was still hot out. I ate it and sweated a ton but noodles taste so good. I think I'm gonna go a little over 16 tom. We'll see how this mileage plans out w getting into trout lake on sat. Also I've noticed my iPhone battery is doing much better. I still have around 70% at the end of the day. Before, I was recharging at lunch everyday! So glad I got it fixed. Still don't know about the temp and shutting off though.
