Last night the azn boys were up until 11p chopping wood. I got to sleep ok though. I got a later start around eight and the boys were already chopping wood as soon as they woke. Couldn't wait to start hiking outta there. Most of the morning was dense forest and a good temp. Didn't need to carry much water. I took an early lunch and decided to make today short around 15. I took my time and ate berries along the trail today. I got my first view of mt hood and was super stoked. I actually had a few climbs today that I enjoyed. It's just diff and makes me feel like I've accomplished something.
I decided to stick to my original plan and camp at Barlow pass. It was still early and I could've hiked up to the next spring but didn't want to. I was almost certain I'd camp alone but then a ton of hikers rolled in after eight. They are super loud and talkative. It's like I like having people around but sometimes it's annoying when they're super loud. You can't have it al I guess. It's been getting colder at night and in the mornings. Fall is already approaching. I hope to be able to fight through the cold tom morn and still hike out early. Breakfast buffet in the morn! And beach walk up.
