Last night was kinda crazy. The trees squeaked SO loud all night and it started raining around 1am. I got paranoid that a storm was rolling in and would blow down one the trees. So scary. I waited awhile until the rain calmed down and finally made it up around eight. I put all electronic things into ziploc bags and had to put everything I usually hang off my pack, inside. I walked in the drizzly rain for about 2.5 hours before it let up. It wasn't bad but just the thought of carrying my tent wet all day and other things damp wasnt as fun. And there wasn't really any sun today to dry anything out.

Today was mostly dense forests. Very pnw w all the moss on trees. Once again, this section is a bit demoralizing. It's also pias bday today. I wished I was there celebrating. I wonder what they ended up doing for it. As usual, I get home sick after leaving people I know. I tried talking to ppl at lunch today but this one guy immediately gave off bro vibes and I was like 😑. I walked the rest of the day through so many berries. I don't know what is what. I ran into the two gals I had met at elk lake. It was great seeing a familiar face. I ended up walking w them and was planning on camping with them until we came up to our last site and it was filled w weekenders. I already overdid the day and couldn't push any further. My feet were def done for the day so they went on to the next site. A little bummed it didn't work out but I didn't want to push it.

This one site is filled w a bunch of loud Asian kids. They are talking so loud and cursing and chopping a bunch of wood. I walked back into the trees and attempted to find a spot. I'm on a slope but I was desperate to stop. I'm thinking tom I might do a small day or go to the last water before the beach walk. There's not many water sources and there's a few legit climbs. But 50 mile sections are so nice. I have way too much food for two days. I've noticed my pack has been really heavy. Hopefully these kids won't be up all night and I can catch up on my sleep. My tent is finally drying out now that it's pitched. It was so wet all day! I can't wait for timberline breakfast and then the border. And Pct days bc I get to see friends.
