Woke up this morning to little bugs. That was nice. They were so bad when I went to bed I was almost certain they would still be terrible in the morn! I went back to the store when they opened and got my box. At first they didn't have it on the list and I almost had a heart attack but she found it. Close call. Everything in their store is super marked up so resupplying there would be $$$. I sorted my food which took no time at all. It was another day of loitering at shelter cove until ups came.
The restaurant was closed so our only food option were frozen things that we could microwave in the hiker tent. I had a hot pocket for breakfast. I can't remember the last time I've ever eaten that. Lunch was a snickers ice cream and chicken burrito. It's kinda driving me crazy that I have barely hiked at all and I'm already eating like a hiker. I just feel like I haven't worked very hard at all. Today was pretty boring. It was pretty dead and not many ppl around. I talked to a few new hikers but mostly BG. He is seriously the older version of GB. Same hair, small and skinny person. So funny. Even similar mannerisms. I was literally watching the clock and waited all day for the ups truck to come. The fedex came first but ups came around four! A little earlier than I had imagined so that was nice. I saw my box and was so excited! Eczema meds and new glasses. Yay. Thanks michelle for sending me them so quickly!
I got all my stuff ready and hiked out. I really hate that feeling of putting on your crusty socks and shoes after you've been out of them for awhile....it kinda makes me cringe. I forget that was a thing. I took the road walk back out to the hwy and got back on trail. Thankfully it wasn't super hot since it was early evening. I reached rosary lake w such nice light. I saw BG camped and joined him. Dora, this other Asian girl I met at the store, also strolled in not too long after. It was breezy, no bugs and was the nicest view I've had so far.
I made a weird mashy/Spanish rice/ramen thing and rolled it in a tortilla w cheese and cheetos for dinner. It was interesting. There's a heat wave this week so I'm thinking of hiking out early morn to get miles in. I'm gonna do 18s into sisters. As soon as the sun went down, the breeze stopped and tons of mosquitoes came out! I am so sad but I hope they're gone in the morn. It really sucks when you have to go to the bathroom and there's a million bugs outside. :(
