Today I felt like I've been here for like five days. All the tents around me have already rotated three different times but I am still planted here. I sat around the store this morning trying to read that book but I just couldn't get into it and felt super distracted. Every time I heard an applause I would check to see what hikers were coming in, hoping it was Nate and Meg. Then they finally were here! I ran up to them and gave them huge hugs. It was a great reunion. Nate looked a little different and had some fuzz growing on his chin. They told me they finally got trail names, "pinky and the brain." So fitting! We sat on the bench catching up a bit and mike and Jackie come in! Also so happy to see them. We decided to go to grumpys yet once again for breakfast haha. I've been there like every morning I've been here. They are starting to know me by name, ugh oh.
It was such a chill morning at the restaurant, there weren't very many hikers and I was able to update people from home on my status one last time. We headed back to the store and it was such a good day. I sat with ET from Pasadena and Heffe from Minnesota for the majority of the time. I really like them. And Nate/Meg and mike/Jackie also came over to hang out in the corner patio that had the best shade. I love this group of people. I was so happy to be around them again. I've missed my married friends so much. I also met a man named mr. Tree that is friends with the Texans and he was wonderful. He asked me how he could be praying for me before he headed off. It meant a lot coming from a stranger.
It got closer to evening and we saw some hikers come in with a bunch of pizza boxes. Apparently a trail angel dropped them off for us. Within 60 seconds, the pizza had disappeared. Me and the married folk ended up going back to grumpys for some dinner one last time. We talked about some plans for the next day. We are heading out tomorrow morning. I am excited to get back on trail with some old friends. It has been too long. I'm kinda dreading the bear can in my pack and how heavy it's going to be but also anxious to see how it's all going to fit. I am so sleepy and need to go to bed. But as usual, there's loud music playing from the store and hikers talking.
